How to Make Your Kid’s Birthday Special

All kids love birthdays. It’s a day that’s all about them. No doubt the birthday party is great – friends, cake, presents and games. But there’s something even more special regarding little personal birthday acknowledgements throughout the birthday kid’s day. Listed here are a few ideas:

Good Morning, Sunshine!
Start the day with little surprises. Even the grumpiest morning kid will be in a fantastic mood when welcomed by these morning birthday surprises.

• Bathroom birthday greeting: Use dry erase markers or lipstick to write a birthday message on your child’s bathroom mirror.

• Birthday Threads: Especially for the little ones, have a special birthday boy or birthday girl shirt for them to wear. For older children, have a special accessory ready for them to wear or use all through the day.

• Birthday Throne: Embellish your birthday kid’s chair at the breakfast table with balloons and streamers.

• Birthday Breakfast: Present your birthday kid with his or her favorite breakfast food along with a candle, sprinkles, or other festive food decorations. For instance, stick a candle in a heap of pancakes, waffles, or in a muffin.

Midday Surprises:
Whether your kid’s birthday falls on a school day, during the weekend, or during the summer, there’re small things that you can do all through the day to whisper “happy birthday” in his or her ear.

• Lunch box surprise: Put a fun little note with a special message in your kid’s lunch box, backpack, or pocket. Wrap each part of your kid’s lunch in birthday gift wrap for another fun lunchbox surprise.

• Surprise Lunch: Surprise your kid with a lunch date. Even if it’s a school day, pick him or her up from school during lunch & have a quick, special birthday lunch.

• Little gifts: Rather than one big gift, offer your kid many smaller gifts all through the day. Surprise your kid with a gift at breakfast, another one in the middle of the day or upon arriving home after school, and yet another at dinner.

Winding Down:
The birthday celebration must reach a crescendo at dinner. However, don’t stop there. Keep the personal celebration going until the lights go out.

• Birthday Feast : Cook your kid’s favorite food for dinner. Yes, even if it is hot dogs, pizza, or pancakes. Of course, the dessert must be cake and ice cream!

• Birthday Bath: Fill the bathtub with balloons. Use soap crayons to write birthday messages on the tiled wall.

• Birthday Bedtime Story: As the special day winds down, tuck your little one in bed and read a birthday-themed book.
